I know everyone says this, but god damn why are weekends so short? And, they’re made even shorter when I’m forced to spend a precious Saturday in bed because I’m so hungover. Stupid. Birthday parties, they just get the best of you.
But, luckily, I was alive and well on Sunday. My friend and I went to the SOWA flea market in Southie. I’ve been wanting to go for a while but just never got around to it… Important lesson: be friends with people who like to do cool stuff, because then they’ll get you to do cool stuff with them. Perfect. We shopped, we ate, we bought. Kind of a lot. Wasn’t really prepared to spend as much as I did, but gee what’s new.
Not sure what I liked more – the flea market, the vintage shop, or the food trucks. Ugh how am I supposed to decide?!? Such a problem, I know. But forreal, the crispy cauliflower from the Dining Car was moneeeeey. Also I got a great map of Boston from the 1800s or something that has my apartment on it! So I had to buy it for the living room. Still decorating the new digs, by the way, so I’m always on the hunt for good decor pieces.
Spending a few hours there was a lot of fun. And super easy to do. I’ll definitely be back.
Honorable Mention: Bon Me. It’s always good. And Cookie Monstah. Because duh.
